Newborn Circumcision

Circumcision is an elective procedure which surgically removes the foreskin covering the head of the penis.

Whether or not to have your son circumcised is your decision. There are different techniques used and you should ask your doctor to discuss which technique they will be using.

If you do decide to have your baby circumcised, the procedure is usually done before you and your baby leave the hospital and the skin will heal in about 7-10 days. You will be taught the simple care of the area prior to going home.
